Bicycles rule, OK!

Posted: June 8th, 2012 by Alicetine Anderson

Earlier this week, a number of the CyberLogic team members took part in the Moonlight Mass, a night-time bicycle ride through the center of Cape Town. The event was a huge success, with over 900 people riding the short route through the city, on every kind of bicycle imaginable!

It was such a great evening and so much fun was had, that we decided to make this Friday a “green” day at CyberLogic. Those who could cycle to work would do so, while those who couldn’t would try to use public transport, instead of driving in by car. Saving the planet one small step at a time, we thought to ourselves…

It was a great idea but, as they say, the best laid plans of mouse and men often go awry. As it often does in Cape Town, the weather took a turn for the worse, with heavy rains forecast throughout the day. In the end, a few of the team stuck to the plan, cycling through torrential rain, in the dark, to arrive at the office looking like drowned rats. Others abandoned the plan in favour of warmth and comfort… but have been looking sheepish about it ever since, their shame etched on their faces for all to see.

Nevertheless, we shall persevere, and the Green Day exercise will become a custom at CyberLogic!
